Four day Physical Awareness Seminar
The body as a guide for understanding the human character
March 27 – April 1

At the enchanting Aegialis Hotel & Spa at Aegiali in the island of Amorgos, in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, we’ll attempt to explore our character, remove stressful habits and come closer to ourselves.
The fast pace of living absorbs us at such a degree that we forget our desires and stop expressing what we feel. This seminar focuses on self-expression, that is the process of connecting expression with our inner wishes. Through yoga and visualization exercises we’ll breathe freely and create an atmosphere of trust, in which we’ll try to decrypt our character. 
Using dance and theatrical techniques as guides and having improvisation as our main medium, we’ll explore our creative abilities and personal difficulties. We’ll release the body from pain and stress and learn how to create circumstances favorable for expressing ourselves without being afraid of what is right and wrong.
Our aim is to build a bridge that connects our already formed character (what I should do) with our primal core (what I really want).
The seminar is taught by Nelly Poulopoulou, director, drama teacher and performer.

Nelly Poulopoulou is a director, drama teacher and performer.
She studied drama at “Theatro Technis” and physical theater at OMMA Studio in Athens Greece. She studied percussion with Ravi Magnifique, butoh dance with Atsushi Takenouchi and Afrobrasilian dance in Salvador, Brasil. Since 1997 she has directed and participated in contemporary theater and dance performances in Greece and abroad. She gave seminars in improvisation at the Municipality of Athens Art Center and at Studio Performance in Athens. She teaches afrobrasilian dance at Studio Quilombo and physical awareness at Studio Troupe.
She is a founding member of Dance Theater Troupe, syn+ergasia dance theater and Quilombo dance group, with which she has organized dance and theater seminars with artists from around the world.
She believes that every man and woman is unique and possesses artistic talents. As a teacher, she tries to impart knowledge from every culture and search for the roots of improvisation.
