DONKEY RIDE

Donkeys used to be the only "vehicule" in Amorgos before the asphalt road was made.
Today you can still see lots of them and some locals propose different rides around the villages.
As the owners of the donkeys are local people and don't speak very good English, Aegialis Hotel & Spa can provide you an English speaking guide.
The two principal rides organized are around Lagada and Tholaria.
Total estimate time: 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The ride from Tholaria usually goes to Agios Dimitrios church.
With this beautiful ride, you will see the whole Aegiali bay from different points of view, the village of Tholaria on the right as you're moving to Agios Dimitris and a unique view of the port of Aegiali and Nikouria island. At the same time, you will experience the agricultural life as you will see some old wells and vineyards.Arriving at Agios Diomitrios, you can enjoy an incredible view on the other side of Amorgos and the surrounding islands.
There before coming back, you can have refreshments and explore around.
Total estimate time: 2 hours and 30 min.

The ride starting from the central square in Lagada to Panagia Epanochoriani is the path that mostly somebody can see the amorgian herbs, which are worldwide famous fοr the medical and aromatical properties. The clients will also see old houses, which are used from the farmers to get some rest while their doing their jobs. When they reach Epanochoriani they can have the refreshments there and see where the local people prepare the food for the big festival on the 15th of August, where the people are eating in this festival and also the very small cafe inside the church, where the visitor can have coffee and refreshments in very cheap price.
